Classes & Seminars

Every Plan track awardee receives an 8 week course designed to guide attendees through the writing of a business plan and creation of financial statements for their company.

Virtual Seminars

Plan track awardees receive access to topic specific seminars that supplement our business plan and financial statement writing course. Real estate selection, tax clearance, small business accounting and financing are some of the topics covered.

Utilize Expert Services

Technical Assistance

Motor City Match Plan track provides awardees with goal-based technical assistance services provided by one of our pre-approved experts. Technical Assistance becomes accessible after the completion of a business plan draft.

What if I am not available for classes or seminars?

  • If you are unable to attend virtual classes, please inform the track manager.
  • Arrangements will be made to provide every awardee with a chance to receive guidance through the development and writing of their business plan and financial statements

Am I able to retake the business planning class?

  • Plan awardees who have previously taken a business planning class are welcome to retake the business planning class
  • Past business plan awardees are welcome to submit existing business plans and financial statements for review and critique.

What is the financial value of my technical assistance award?

Plan track technical assistance awards do not have a set dollar value. Availability of technical assistance services is based on goals set by businesses in consultation with MCM program staff.

Can non-awardees still take the business planning class?

  • Non-awardees are not currently able to attend the Motor City Match business planning classes or seminars
  • Our syllabus and course materials will be available online for self-guided learning by Q2 2022.
